Match Report: St. Kilda Vs Port Adelaide
St. Kilda and the first quarter
Go together like oil and water
But out we came to surprise every-one
Port was fourteen and we were twenty-one
The Pear started like we usually do,
(not very great)
They could have been seven goals ahead
But instead kicked two goals eight
Our inaccuracy was contagious
It seemed the Power had a sneeze
We quoted Ben Lee pre-game
And chanted ‘Catch my disease’
Marshall got injured,
Which is some hard news to handle
But does this open the door?
For our saviour Tom Campbell?
The coach threw Hammer in the middle
But he failed to bring the heat
Even on just one leg
Rowan was better than Jordan Sweet
Coming out of D50 we looked like headless chooks
In a game that we play to honour Barry Brooks
Port’s first few goals came from bad chips in defence
Us not hitting the target and hence
We’re our own biggest enemy, we ate ourselves alive
Did someone say the free kick count was ten to twenty-five?
Dougal forgot which team he was on
And forgot that he isn’t prime Judd
Whenever he holds the ball,
Is when we all hold our eyes shut
Jack Steele only had the pill fifteen times
And seventeen players had it even less
There are some glaring issues
That we desperately need to address
Our season is almost all over
From finals last year to irrelevant
Alone and crying in the changeroom
Please don’t mention the elephant
We need some skill, maybe some better peoples?
We’re on the same number of wins as the Eagles
Two wins and five losses
Why can’t we have five wins and two Ross’s?
Maybe it’s just a club full of bros
Since we lost by ten goals and only dropped Zak Jones?
No accountability at the selection table
We should be winning games but we’re just not able
‘pretenders’ ‘frauds’ ‘very bad’ are things that we’re labeled
North next week,
Maybe then we can settle?
But every time we play them
They bring us down to their level
The game will be sloppy
Not one to remember
But hopefully some joy will be felt
On Saturday and in September
